Too Much to Bear
Too Much to Bear is an interactive audio performance exploring mental health through the lens of the First World War, designed specifically for museum and gallery spaces.
Join actor and amateur historian Leigh Johnstone as you step inside 'Leigh's Museum' on a participatory audio tour that explores his great grandfather's experiences as a stretcher bearer.
Through live performance and audio instructions, Leigh brings his own collections to life and invites the audience to think about personal and collective battles as they reflect on the lives of these unsung heroes during the First World War, ultimately asking the question 'was it too much to bear?'
This performance has been created by Fluid Motion Theatre Company in collaboration with live artist Sebastian H-W.
